Circle is measured from where you first press; Lasso follows your outline. The switch under Add and Remove decides which ZIPs count: Touching (any ZIP the shape touches), Center in (the ZIP's center point is inside) or Fully in (the whole ZIP is inside). For an exact distance, type a ZIP above and press Radius.
To leave out PO Box or single-organization ZIPs (a company, university or government office), or to keep only those, uncheck the others under ZIP types in the list panel.
The dotted grip on each box moves it: click or tap the grip to fold the box away, drag it to put the box somewhere else.
About ZipZoomer: what it does, the data it uses, and answers to common questions.
Internet’s best, friendliest, easiest to use, most powerful U.S. ZIP Code visualizer and aggregator
ZipZoomer is a free map of all 41,063 U.S. ZIP codes. You draw a circle or a lasso on the map, or type a distance around a ZIP code, and ZipZoomer lists every ZIP code inside that area. You can then copy the list, download it as a file or send it as a link.
It covers the 50 states, Washington, DC and Puerto Rico. It runs in a web browser on computers, tablets and phones, in light or dark mode to match your device, with no sign-up and no ads.
ZipZoomer is for anyone who needs a clean list of ZIP codes for a business job.
The map holds 41,063 ZIP codes. Of these, 33,791 have an outline on the map. The other 7,272 have no outline in the Census data and appear as dots: 5,226 PO Box ZIP codes, 1,744 single-organization ZIP codes (one company, university or government office) and 302 standard ZIP codes. Across the whole map there are 29,806 standard, 9,174 PO Box and 2,083 single-organization ZIP codes.
In ZipZoomer, type a ZIP code in the search box and press Radius next to it. Type a distance (up to 200 miles or 322 kilometers), choose miles or km, and press Add to put every ZIP code inside the circle into your list, then press Copy list or Download file. For example, a 10-mile radius around 90210 touches 155 ZIP codes.
If your center is a spot on the map rather than a ZIP code, choose Circle in the toolbar, hold SHIFT and drag outward from that spot while a readout shows the distance. When you let go, ZipZoomer adds every ZIP code the circle touches, or only those with their center or whole area inside if you change the switch under Add and Remove. On a phone, hold Add with one finger and draw with another.
Google’s help page for Measure distance describes right-clicking a starting point and clicking the map to add points to a path; it does not describe drawing a circle. To list every ZIP code within 10 miles, search a ZIP code in ZipZoomer and press Radius, where the distance box shows 10 miles to start with.
Google’s help page on searching locations says you can narrow a search with a ZIP code and see a place’s ZIP code in its details; it does not describe ZIP code boundaries. ZipZoomer draws them: zoom in and each ZIP code’s outline and number appear on the map, with county lines and city names. On a computer, hover over a ZIP code to see its city, county, type and population.
Google’s help page on searching locations says a search can include a ZIP code, for example “gas in 94131”, and that selecting a place shows its address and ZIP code. ZipZoomer works the other way around: it finds ZIP codes by ZIP number, city or county, and shows which ZIP codes fall inside an area you draw. It does not look up street addresses.
Type your city or county in the ZipZoomer search box and choose it; the map moves to that area. Choose Add all to put that city’s or county’s ZIP codes in your list, or zoom in and click the ZIP codes you want. ZipZoomer does not look up your location or a street address, so search by name or ZIP code.
Paste your ZIP codes into the Selected ZIPs box in the list panel, or press Import a file of ZIPs and choose a .txt, .csv or .tsv file. Commas, spaces, tabs and new lines all work, and a ZIP+4 code written with a hyphen, such as 90210-1234, is cut to its first five digits. Each ZIP code is highlighted on the map, and anything that is not a valid ZIP code, such as 902101234 with no hyphen, is listed so you can fix it.
Microsoft’s page on Excel map charts says they work with geographic regions such as countries/regions, states, counties or postal codes, and do not support latitude/longitude or street addresses. To see where your ZIP codes fall and get a clean list back, copy the ZIP column from Excel and paste it into ZipZoomer. If Excel dropped a leading zero (2134 instead of 02134), ZipZoomer lists it as not recognized so you can fix it.
ZipZoomer works with U.S. ZIP codes only: the 50 states, Washington, DC and Puerto Rico. It does not have UK, Canadian or other postcodes. For a U.S. ZIP code, search it, press Radius and type the distance.
The USPS Look Up a ZIP Code tool finds a specific ZIP Code from a street address, city and state. ZipZoomer does not look up street addresses; it works with five-digit ZIP codes and cuts a ZIP+4 code written with a hyphen, such as 90210-1234, to its first five digits when you paste it in. Once you have the ZIP code, search it in ZipZoomer to see where it sits.
ZipZoomer lists five ZIP codes for Beverly Hills, California: 90209, 90210, 90211, 90212 and 90213. Of these, 90209 and 90213 are PO Box ZIP codes and show as dots, and the other three have outlines on the map. There is also a Beverly Hills in Florida (Citrus County) with 34464 and 34465, so search “Beverly Hills” and choose the state you want.
Yes: zoom into California on the ZipZoomer map and each ZIP code’s outline and number appear, with a street map underneath as you zoom in further. ZipZoomer lists 2,588 ZIP codes for California, 1,802 with outlines and 786 shown as dots. Click the ones you want, or use Radius, Circle or Lasso, and copy the list.
